We are not hapless victims of climate change. We are meant to learn from nature and work in concert with her. Observing and attending to the needs of soil microorganisms, leads to greater intuition and solutions to the problems we now face. Making hot compost is the beginning to co-creating with nature.

Multi-day Hot Composting Workshop

Ready for the whole immersive experience?

You will gather the resources to make a 40-50 bucket hot compost pile and monitor and turn the pile through its whole thermophilic phase (approx. 2-3 weeks). Includes 4-5 two-hour sessions covering topics such as:

Hot composting ingredients and preparation
Making and turning a pile
Soil food web basics
Microscope lab to identify organisms
Storage and application methods

After the maturation phase, you'll have beautiful living compost to apply to your garden.

Hot Composting 2-Hour Workshop

Not able to participate in the whole multi-day thermophilic journey?

You can learn the basic process of making hot compost in this fun pile-making workshop. This is a great corporate or community teambuilding event.

Soil Session

Looking for a guest speaker to talk about the soil food web?

Learn about the importance of soil health for healthy plants and people.

Travelling Microscope Lab

Are you a school or community wanting to view the magic of microbes?

Learn about the key players in the soil food web with hands-on observations of your soil and compost through the lens of a microscope.

Backyard Pile

Want to make a pile in your own backyard, but would like some training and guidance?

This includes similar topics and sessions as in the Multi-day Hot-Composting Workshop. After the maturation phase, you'll have beautiful living compost to apply to your garden or yard.
